Woah it's been a bit of a long hiatus! I'm back with a wee bit of art, not much, but it's been hard to find time to draw since work started... I find I get to thinking about relaxing when I get home from work, but! I've managed some koalas in my spare time. I'd like to Photoshop some of them up. And I'm working on a koala character named Mr. Figg. We'll see where it leads :)

Just a bit of constructive criticism. Hope you don't mind!:
Sketch #1 is good except for the nose overhanging the mouth. This makes it read more like bird beak than nose - keep a bit of muzzle space between nose and mouth.
Top left pic in Sketch #2 looks like eyes are sliding down face and doesn't read well. Best not to get too bizarre with facial features. This is an unfortunate trend in contemporary comic strips, too, where it's hard to make out the character's features clearly. I like the others in this sketch page, though.
Drawings in Sketch #4 also are getting a bit hard to read, and looking more parrotlike than koala.
Sketches #5 and #6 - Beautiful! You've hit the right balance with the facial features and he's also coming across as a distinct little personality. Your head, ears and body shapes are really appealing, and the big collar is fun!
I'm glad to see you posting again. It's always a pleasure to see your work.
Cool stuff - that Mr. Figg is quite the renaissance uhh.. marsupial.... he's a conductor and rides a pretty freaky koala-mobile... wow - you've landed a workin' gig already - congratulations are in order, I do believe...

Pete -- thank you so much for your input! I'm taking it into consideration now and drawing some new koalas and other animals and humans and such.
I remember how you always used to drill it into us to not get too wonky with our shapes to the point where it became hard to read the features -- a bit of reminding every now and then is always appreciated!

Awesome Koalas :-D and i like Heathcliff a lot, you captured the motion so well, i got some lovebirds too, and they taste and test the world through biting things, is normal for them but sometimes they bite too hard :-(
